Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 July 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to The Sourdough Cult ("we", "our", "us").

These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and the purchase of products from us. By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website.

2. About Us

The Sourdough Cult is a UK-based business specialising in sourdough starter kits, baking supplies and educational resources.

For any questions, please contact us at:

Email: hello@thesourdoughcult.co.uk

3. Eligibility

By placing an order, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old or have permission from a parent or guardian.

  • The information you provide is accurate and complete.

  • You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract.

4. Products

We make every effort to ensure that product descriptions, photographs and prices are accurate.

Because many of our products contain live sourdough starter, slight natural variations in appearance, smell or activity are normal and do not constitute a fault.

Images are for illustration purposes and minor variations may occur.

5. Orders

Once an order has been placed, you will receive an email confirming receipt.

Acceptance of your order occurs when we dispatch your goods.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order where:

  • Payment cannot be authorised.

  • Pricing errors have occurred.

  • Products are unavailable.

  • Fraud or misuse is suspected.

If payment has already been taken, you will receive a full refund.

6. Pricing & Payment

All prices are shown in Pounds Sterling (£).

Prices include VAT where applicable.

Payment must be received in full before goods are dispatched.

We reserve the right to change prices at any time, although this will not affect orders already accepted.

7. Shipping

Delivery estimates are provided as guidance only and are not guaranteed.

Once your parcel has been handed to the courier, delays outside our control may occasionally occur.

Please ensure your delivery address is accurate before completing your purchase.

8. Live Sourdough Starter

Our live starter is a living culture and requires appropriate care after delivery.

Instructions are supplied with each order.

We cannot accept responsibility for problems arising from:

  • Failure to follow feeding instructions.

  • Exposure to excessive heat or cold.

  • Incorrect storage.

  • Extended delays before opening after delivery.

If you experience difficulties, please contact us and we'll do our best to help.

9. Returns & Refunds

Our Returns & Refunds Policy forms part of these Terms.

As our live starter is a perishable product, we do not accept returns or offer refunds unless goods are faulty, damaged or not as described.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
