Our Story

Who are we?

Not that kind of cult.

No robes, no chanting, no suspicious midnight rituals (aside from the occasional panic when you realise you forgot to feed your starter).

The Roots

The Sourdough Cult was born in Cheshire from a long-standing family love of baking, centred around a living wild yeast culture that's been carefully nurtured and passed down through generations.

What began on the family kitchen table, much like the starter itself, has grown steadily… and here we are.

The Mission

We created The Sourdough Cult to make that experience accessible to everyone. Whether you've never baked a loaf in your life or you're already knee-deep in flour, we give you everything you need to get started—without the noise, the jargon, or the gatekeeping.

It's simple, really. A strong starter. Clear guidance. A bit of patience, plus water, flour, and salt.

Before long, you'll understand why people get a little obsessive about it.

Join if you like. No pressure.

But don't say we didn't warn you. It is a bit of a cult.
